The Hawks defeated the College of Southern Maryland 3-1 on Saturday. Alexis Kriner (12) scored Hagerstown's first goal in the 40th minute on an assist by Megan Stauch (5) to hold the lead at 1-0 at to end the first half.
In the 66th minute of the second half, Abigail Spielman (25) scored on an assist by Abby Sprecher (19), increasing the Hawk's lead to 2-0. Elizabeth Shank (3) scored an unassisted goal in the 71st minute making the lead 3-0. The College of Southern Maryland scored off of a penalty kick in the 73rd minute for their only goal.
Hagerstown goalkeeper, Hannah Hoffman (8), had 5 saves to help keep the Hawks ahead in the game. "This team continues to work hard for one another," stated head coach, Clifton Williams. "We continue to get better, developing more chemistry with each game, and today we came away with a win."
The Hawks match on Tuesday, September 14th at Montgomery College has been postponed. The Hawks travel to Fairfax, VA on Thursday, September 16th to play Christendom College.
