Hagerstown Community College Softball hosted a round robin tournament this weekend with Lackawanna College (Scranton, PA) and Corning Community College (Corning, NY). Each team played each other twice over Saturday and Sunday.
Hagerstown started off strong in their first game on Saturday against the Lackawanna Falcons. Jordyn Brown pitched a no hitter with 7 strikeouts to lead the Hawks to a 13-2 win. Bailey Wilson hit a grand slam, leading with 4RBIs, as Hagerstown combined for 16 total hits in the game. The Hawks fell in game two to the Red Barons of Corning Community College 1-4. Adrianna Beeler and Kaylyn Cochran each had a hit, with Peyton Sheffler and Adrianna Beeler combining on the mound with two strike outs each.
On Sunday, the Hawks rallied together in the first game of the day to beat Corning, 11-10. The Hawks scored 9 runs in the seventh inning to come back from a 8 run deficit, with Emily Shank leading the team with 3 hits. Jordyn Brown pitched a complete game with 6 strike outs, and the Hawks offense had a combined 13 total hits in the game. The Hawks played Lackawanna in the last game on Sunday and came up short, 7-14. Morgan Kolich led the team with 3 RBIs. Adrianna Beeler started on the mound for the Hawks and had 2 strikeouts, and Peyton Sheffler closed out the game with one strikeout.
Hawks softball is back in action on Wednesday, March 23rd as they travel to Potomac State for a doubleheader starting at 3:00pm.
