Hagerstown CC Baseball has notched five consecutive wins this week, starting on Sunday, April 26th, when the Community College of Allegheny County Wildcats came to HCC for a single 9 inning game. Hawks bats were hot with Nick Miller, Thomas Antonio, Bryan Benedict, (4 RBIs), and Justin Tobin (5 RBIs) all getting 2 hits, with a grand slam being one of Tobin's hits.
The Hawks kept rolling into Monday, April 27th, when Montgomery College came to play a doubleheader at Hawks Field. Colby Hahn (7-1) pitched a complete game shutout, while Nizeah Mummert and Hunter Gillin each had 2 hits in the first game 9-0 win. In game two, Justin Tobin, Thomas Antonio, and Nick Miller (2 hits) all hit home runs in the 8-5 win.
Wednesday, April 28th, the Hawks travelled to face CCBC Essex in a doubleheader, for the third straight day of play. In Game one, HCC battled Essex into the 9th inning, winning 5-4. Quinn Illig had the game winning hit, an RBI double, and game notables were, Nick Miller (2 hits) and Thomas Antonio (HR). The Hawks "don't lose" mentality served them well in game two, where they scored 3 runs with 2 outs in the 7th inning to tie the game. Seojun Kim hit a 2 run double, big blow, to put the Hawks ahead, winning 11-8 after 8 innings. Quinn Illig and Nick Miller each had 2 hits in the game.
Head Coach, Scott Jennings, earned his 1200th career win as a head Baseball Coach when the Hawks closed out the second game against the CCBC Essex Knights. In his 26th season at HCC, Jennings has a head coaching record of 1200-722-4, and an HCC coaching record of 808-512-4. Congratulations Coach Jennings!
Looking toward the weekend, the Hawks play a doubleheader at Prince George's CC on Saturday and a single 9 inning game at Montgomery College on Sunday.
