HCC MEN'S XC COMPETES IN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND HALF MARATHON
The Hagerstown CC Men's Cross Country team took their talents west this past weekend when they traveled to Fort Dodge, IA to participate in the National XC Championships and Half Marathon. After winning the Region 20 Championships just a few short weeks ago, the Hawk men looked to carry that momentum into the spotlight as they took on the Nation's best. There were 4 Hawks that ran in the Half Marathon and they were headlined by Freshman front man Jakob Davidson when he finished 74th out of 203 total runners with a time of 1:15:36.0. He was also the first Region 20 finisher and demonstrated amazing resilience in his national debut.
Along with Davidson, Sophomores Will Campbell, Lucas Young, and Johnathan Fox turned in respectable times by finishing 93rd, 143rd, and 164th respectively. It was a banner day for the Hawks as they finished 23rd out of a possible 32 teams collectively and as they wrapped their XC season after the Half Marathon, those same runners will turn their attention towards the indoor track season. Training (and learning!) never stop at HCC! GO HAWKS!
