Hawks men win the Blazer Blitz and Morgan Jarrell places 8th for the women
Hagerstown Men's Cross Country won the Hood College Blazer Blitz 2023 4K today with a team score of 31. The field of 9 included Hagerstown CC, Shepherd, Hood, Howard CC, Gallaudet, Marymount (VA), McDaniel, Goucher and Washington Adventist. Noah Schappell, (FR; Washington HS) placed 2nd overall with a time of 14:05.97, Jackson Mundey (FR; Berkeley Springs HS) placed 4th, 14:15.27 to stay in the top five finishers, and Emmanuel Enow (FR; Clear Spring HS) placed 6th, 14:26.04 and Jake Scallion (FR; North Hagerstown HS) 8th, 14:33.12, to round out the top ten medalists for the Hawks men. Tommy Bildheiser (SO; Cedar Crest HS) rounded out the team in 12th place, 14:41.33.
Morgan Jarrell (FR; Brunswick HS) placed 8th for the Hawks in the women's 3K race in a time of 12:40.70. Teammate Claire Woodring (FR; Williamsport HS) finished 22nd in a time of 13:57.50. The field of 7 for the women's race included Shepherd, winning the race with an average time of 13:10, Hagerstown CC, District of Columbia, Hood, McDaniel, Gallaudet, Howard CC, and Washington Adventist.
