LADY HAWKS FALL IN CONFERENCE RIVALRY MATCH
The Hagerstown Women's Volleyball team fell short on Wednesday night, 9/18, losing to rival Montgomery College by a score of 3-1. All 4 sets were extremely competitive and was a night of many highs and lows. After MC came back from a 19-15 deficit in the first set to win, the Lady Hawks made it a point to come back with a win of their own to even the series at 1-1 with the help of freshman middle hitter Heaven Jarvis who was particularly dominant when set to. They then jumped out to a double-digit lead of 11-1 thanks to Emma Smith's 8 straight service points before the Raptors fought back and stole the 3rd set, 27-25. The theme of the night was overcoming deficits as Hagerstown had MC once again on the ropes in the 4th set, 24-23, before having the lead relinquished in the blink of an eye and losing the deciding game, 25-23 to seal the Raptors' road victory. "We definitely have some adjustments to make both offensively and defensively and pull back together mentally", Coach Sierra Hill said, "I know they will reset and play hard this weekend." The Lady Hawks look to bounce back from this tough loss as they quickly turn their attention to the Wolfpack of Westmoreland County Community College. The match is set for 1PM on Saturday, September 21st.
