The Hagerstown Hawks remain undefeated in Region 20 and the Maryland JUCO (8-0) with a win yesterday evening against the Montgomery College , Rockville, Raptors. The Hawks won the match in 4 sets (25-17), (29-27), (22-25), and 25-21). Madison Baker (7) had 36 assists, along with 5 aces. Katie Morgan (13) had 19 kills, Macie Chrisman (18) had 10 kills, and Anniya Grantham (16) had 9 kills. Jenna Shank (10) had 25 digs and Laran Taulton (6) had 12 digs.
The Hawks hosted Sophomore Night on Monday, September 27th, recognizing the accomplishments and thanking sophomores Payton Downie, Laran Taulton, Jenna Shank, Katie Morgan, Anniya Grantham, and Drew Gordon, and their families. Also during the match with Allegany College, the team hosted a fundraiser in honor of the Lesnett family. Hagerstown swept the Trojans (25-3), (25-4) (25-6) with Drew Gordon (17) serving 14 aces, Madison Baker(7) killing 6 with 7 assists in the match, and Aliyah Dorsey (2) adding 7 assists.
Friday, September 24th, the Hawks hosted the Chesapeake College Skipjacks, winning the match (25-4), (25-9), (25-8). Madison Baker (7) had 10 aces and 15 assists, Katie Morgan (13) had 11 kills, and Jenna Shank (10) had 7 assists.
The Hawks travel to Fairfax, VA on Wednesday, October 6th to play the Christendom College Crusaders in a match starting at 6:00 p.m.
