PITTSBURG, Kan. — Hagerstown Community College sophomore Micaela Fleetwood placed seventh in the women's pentathlon at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, earning All-American honors for the second time in her career.
Fleetwood, a 2017 North Hagerstown graduate, scored a school-record 2,975 points, breaking the mark of 2,888 set by Tiffany Warnick at last year's national meet.
Fleetwood, whose previous best was 2,742, had personal-record performances in three of the five events — 60 hurdles (9.37 seconds), shot put (31 feet, 3 1/4 inches) and 800 (2:33.40). She also had marks of 4-8 3/4 in the high jump and 14-10 1/2 in the long jump Friday.
The top eight athletes earned All-American honors in the field of 15.
Fleetwood was an All-American last spring at outdoor nationals, placing seventh in the heptathlon.
