LADY HAWKS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT AGAINST ROADRUNNERS

The Women's basketball team won their second consecutive game this past Saturday (11/8) against non-conference opponent, Delaware Tech CC by a score of 77-54. After facing some tough competition to open the season, they have now found their stride this past week beating Salem CC first on Tuesday by a score of 62-53, and then the win against the Roadrunners.

Hagerstown got off to a hot start in the game as they were leading 41-22 at halftime and never took their foot off the gas as they fought off any comeback bids by Del Tech throughout the second stanza.

The Lady Hawks were anchored by their record-setting, sophomore captain, Andrea Elder as she collected a triple-double including a game-high 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 13 blocks. Along with Elder were 3 more double digit scorers in freshman point guard, Briana King with 13, sophomore Frederick CC transfer, Kayla Dangerfield with 15, and freshman forward, Janae Bradley with 12. Another key contributor was freshman guard, Ella Bennett as she added 9 assists along with 5 points of her own.

The women's team looks to carry this momentum forward as they open Region 20 conference play next Saturday (11/15) as they travel to Frederick CC to take on the Cougars at 5PM. Please consider tuning in to the livestream coverage or making the trip to cheer on the squad.
