Hawks Take Down the Owls in Overtime

Hagerstown CC came out on top 50-45 in an overtime thriller at home against Harford Community College on Wednesday, January 19th. 

Ashley Davis (Smithsburg, MD) led the team with 25 points. Alexandra Henderson (Smithsburg, MD) followed with 18 points and a career high 7 steals. 

Both teams had a slow start, with the Owls leading 16-10 at half.  The Hawks came out for the second half ready to play, scoring 23 points in the third quarter to take the lead 33-30.  Harford started the fourth quarter scoring 10 straight points to take a 40-33 lead with under 5 minutes to play.  With less than a minute left to play Alexandra Henderson stole the ball and drew the foul.  Henderson made both free throws to even the score 42-42 at the end of regulation. In overtime, the Hawks outscored the Owls 8-3 for a final score of 50-45. 

The Hawks, 3-10, move on to play Montgomery Community College at home on Monday, January 24th, tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
