Southern Maryland (6-8, 2-3) built an early 21-8 lead and defeated Hagerstown Community College in a Maryland JUCO game Wednesday night.
The Hawks (4-9, 1-5) cut the lead to five in the second half but got no closer. Alexis Harris led HCC with 19 points and 11 rebounds, Kha'Niya Evans scored 18 and Sadavia Felder added 12 points.
