Under a threat of gametime rain, the Hawks took the field against the Anne Arundel CC Riverhawks at home on Monday, and the offense wasted no time in getting to work. The Hawks scored 11 runs, through 5 innings, off of 14 hits for the 11-1 win. Kaylyn Cochran (#12) and Ashley Palmer (#20) had a home run each, while Rachel Cunningham (#9,) Makayla Ambrose (#22,) Kelsie Jo Laing (#8,) and Kassidy Tobery (#7) all contributed RBIs. Jordyn Brown (#6) earned the win, pitching the duration, with 6 strikeouts and no walks.
Game two of the doubleheader went the full 7 innings. Offense between Hagerstown and Anne Arundel was back and forth into the sixth inning, when the Riverhawks scored 1 run to tie the game at 4-4. In the bottom of the 7th, sophomore, Rachel Cunningham went deep for a second time, for the walk-off Hawks win, 5-4.
