MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Hagerstown Community College split a pair of games at the FastPitch Dreams Classic on Monday.
In the loss to Danville Area Community College (Ill.), Kaitlin Wolfe had two hits and pitched a five-hitter with three strikeouts, allowing one earned run for the Hawks. Emily Talbert reached base twice, on a double and a walk.
In the six-inning win over Grand Rapids (Mich.), Madi Renn had three hits, including a double and a triple, and three RBIs for HCC (3-1). Payton Smith and Maddy McDonough had two hits and scored two runs each, and Cierra Beaver pitched a four-hit shutout with three strikeouts to pick up the win. HCC scored five runs in the sixth.
