HCC Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season in Richmond

The Hawks opened their 2023 Outdoor Track and Field Season at the Fred Hardy Invitational held at the University of Richmond.   

Coming off of the NJCAA Indoor National Championships the Hawks looked to continue their momentum.  In the high jump Gabrielle Cook and All-American Josey Reineman tied for 2^nd place with a height of 1.55 meters (5' 1").  Mikaila Ek took 8^th place in the Pole Vault with a clearing height of 3.05 meters (10').   For the Men, Tommy Bildheiser broke his lifetime personal record time in the 800 meters.  His time of 1:52.49 seconds placed him in 3^rd for the event and according to Coach Mike Spinnler "Bildheiser's time is the fastest 800 meters by a Hawk in 16 years and is also currently the fastest 800 meter time in the 2023 NJCAA Outdoor Season."  

This weekend (3/25) the Hawks head back to Virginia to the Doc Jopson Invitational being hosted by Bridgewater College in Bridgewater Va.
