North grad Fleetwood earns All-American honors for HCC

EL DORADO, Kan. — Hagerstown Community College freshman Micaela Fleetwood, a 2017 North Hagerstown graduate, finished seventh in the women's heptathlon Friday to earn All-American honors at the NJCAA Division I championships.
She finished with 3,871 points, a personal best by 369.
Fleetwood, who was in eighth place after competing in four of the seven events Thursday (100 hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200), finished with a flurry Friday.
She went 14 feet, 6 3/4 inches in the long jump, before turning in personal-record performances of 93-5 in the javelin and 2:32.75 in the 800-meter run.
HCC sophomore Tiffany Warnick placed 12th with 3,534 points.
The top eight finishers earned All-American honors.
