Joe Mills named HCC Head Men's Soccer Coach: New season...new start
Hagerstown Community College Athletics named Joe Mills as Head Men's Soccer Coach on August 4th, and Coach Mills hit the ground running!
Formerly the Head Boy's Soccer Coach at South Hagerstown High School, Mills took the helm of a team of two returning sophomores, Amadu Jalloh (10) (Hagerstown, MD) and Finn Arvay (15) (Washington County Technical High School) along with fifteen freshmen, many from the local area. A former all-county, all-area, and all-state player and graduate from South Hagerstown High School, Mills is well-connected with soccer leagues throughout the tri-state area, and his hiring at HCC was attractive to much of the local talent looking to continue playing collegiate soccer. When asked about his projection for the season ahead, Coach mills replied, "I was very excited to be named Head Men's Soccer Coach at Hagerstown Community College. For some time now, I had hoped this opportunity would arise, and I am delighted that the time has come. We have a great group of guys and I am really enjoying working with them. They are working hard in training each day to get a little better, which gives me optimism for the season. With most of the team being new, it may take a little time for us to fully mesh as a team, but I totally expect us to be competitive in every match. I have always believed in Washington County and the greater tri-state area's ability to produce quality soccer players, and with that focus, I hope to rebuild the program with the goal of becoming one of the more competitive programs in the region once again."
