Hagerstown Men's Basketball began the season at the Personal Best Tip-Off Classic on Friday, November 5th at Allegany College of Maryland. Friday's game with Potomac State College of WVU posted the Hawk's first win of the year with Kyree Ellis (12) putting up 22 points, with 3 assists, 13 rebounds and 1 steal. Malik Jordan (3) scored 19 points, and Eathen Williams (2) 16 points, as the Hawks beat the Catamounts 73-68. Hagerstown traveled back to Cumberland on Saturday, November 6th to face Pennsylvania Highlands Communty College, beating the Black Bears 92-50. Kristoff Hayden (10) lead the Hawks with 19 points, Malik Jordan (3) scored 15, Travis Smoot (23) 11, Eathen Williams (2) 10 points, and Charles Sapp (42) had 7 rebounds in the Hawk's victory.
On Wednesday, November 10th, Hagerstown traveled to Columbia, MD to face Howard CC, losing to the Dragons 74-87. Kyree Ellis (12) scored 20 points in the effort, Brye Hopkins (24) posted 18 points with 9 rebounds and 2 steals, Malik Jordan (3) had 15 points, and Kristoff Hayden (10) had 10 points and 5 rebounds. The Hawks were out-rebounded 48-34, with the Dragons making 18 steals in the game.
Over the weekend of November 13th and 14th, the Hawks traveled to New Rochelle, NY to play in a mixer with Monroe College and Sullivan County Community College at the Monroe Athletic Complex. The Hawks lost 78-93 to the Mustangs, and 54-91 to the Generals, in out of conference play.
