Luke Harsh and Justin Smith had two hits and three RBIs each to lead Hagerstown Community College past CCBC Essex in the opener of a Maryland JUCO Conference doubleheader sweep on Saturday.

In the opener, Hagerstown scored seven runs in the first inning, six runs in the second and the game was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Sinjin Shoop had two hits and two RBIs, Hunter Martin had two hits and an RBI, Brandon Toloso had a two-run double and Nick Stegman (4-1) pitched a one-hit shutout with three strikeouts.

In the second game, Jordan Tapley (4-0) pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, Smith had two hits and an RBI and Quin Ambeault, Jason Paredes, Doug Cassera, Toloso and Harsh had an RBI each for the Hawks (21-7, 10-2).
