LONGWOOD, Pa. — Hagerstown Community College placed all five of its scorers in the top 20, finishing third as a team in the NJCAA Region XX championships at Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday.
For the Hawks, freshman Levi Mason led the way with a seventh-place finish. The former Boonsboro standout covered the muddy 8,000-meter layout in 32:11.8. Sophomore team captain and fellow Boonsboro graduate, Matt Frushour, also cracked the top 10, coming in ninth (32:24.6). Finishing in the three-four scoring positions were freshman Smithsburg products Jordan Marquiss (14th, 33:02.8) and Seth Dodson (19th, 34:33.3). Rounding out the scoring for the Hawks was former Catoctin middle-distance specialist Kyle Gasior. The freshman, competing in cross country for the first time this season, placed 20th (34:40.3).
East African Hassan Eissa of Harford Community College was the overall winner in 28:45.2. Community College of Baltimore County-Essex — coached by former South Hagerstown and HCC standout Brandon Horning — won the team title, followed by Harford.
