With eight sophomores from the 2019 team moving on from the program, Head Coach Clifton Williams and Assistant Coaches Matt Speaker and Rachel Marlock have been looking to local area talent to build next season's roster. Two thousand twenty Washington County recruits who have committed to the Hawks include Williamsport's Abigail Spielman, South Hagerstown's Ashley Frey, and Clear Spring's Megan Stauch. St. Maria Goretti's Payton Rothstein, Southern Fulton County's Brooke Jordan and Heritage Academy's Elizabeth Shank round out the 2020 recruits from the tri-state area.
The six returning sophomores for the Hawks are all conference players Bailey Burkett (2nd team goalie), Tillie Derr (2nd team defensive back), along with Edy Colliflower (defensive back), Rachel Peerson (defensive back), Riley Mckinnon (midfielder/defensive back), Calista Plante (attacking midfielder).
"Looking at the skill level of our new recruits, we are building a strong base for 2020. As the spring progresses we are actively seeking additional recruits to the program," stated Coach Williams. "I am scheduling an open tryout for mid-June, to give girls an opportunity to look at playing as a Hawk at the college level."
