The Lady Hawks Soccer won in a thrilling comeback finish over Lackawanna on Saturday 4-3.
The Hawks found themselves trailing trailing 2-0 going into the halftime break but were determined to rebound in the 2nd half.
"The team really responded to my request at the half to change their mindset and strategy," Head Coach Clifton Williams said. "Their response helped change the outcome of the game."
Lackawanna would add another goal before the big comeback in the last 30 minutes.
For the third time in the match, Smith and Neff worked in tandem to deliver the Hawks 3rd goal of the game in the 79th minute to tie the game.
Megan Smith finished the game with a hat trick and one assist.
Taylor Neff finished with one goal and two assists.
Ryleigh McKinnon had 1 assist.
Goalkeeper Bailey Burkett recorded 25 saves to help Hagerstown earn the victory over Lackawanna.
"Bailey stopped some critical shots late in the game," Coach Williams said. "This team showed a lot of desire to win and never gave up even after losing early on in the game."
For the first time in school history, the Lady Hawks came back from their largest deficit with 30 minutes to go in a game.
The Lady Hawks next match-up will be on Thursday September 12 at 2:00PM at Montgomery College.
