The women's basketball team broke their dry spell by winning 66-37, at home, on Wednesday, against Northern Virginia Community College. Leading scorers were Alexis Harris with 20 points, 21 rebounds, and four assists, Janae Holman with14 points and four rebounds, Sadavia Felder with 13 points, 14 rebounds and three steals, and Makaylah McDonald with 13 points and six rebounds.
During the first quarter, the Hawks got off to a slow start falling 10 points behind the Nighthawks. However, in the second quarter, the momentum shifted, and the Hawks stepped up their defense, with Harris and Briana Alongi making pivotal steals. Harris continued the momentum, scoring 7 points with 6 rebounds, along with MaKaylah McDonald adding 5 points and 4 rebounds for the Hawks going into halftime. During the third and fourth quarters, the Hawks took over the game, with the Nighthawks never able to close the scoring gap.
The Hawks will play their next game at home against Cecil College on Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
