Story by Wornden Ly

Keyser, Wv.—The Women's basketball team had a strong start, but struggled to maintain the pace against Potomac State College.

The Hawks lost to the Catamounts 73-50 on Feb. 1. This makes their record 4-11 in the 2019-2020 season.

In the first half of the game, the Hawks trailed behind the Catamounts 29-24.

However, in the second half, not so much.

"The Catamounts wore down the short-handed Hawks," said Head Coach Bernie Semler.

The women's roster consisted of seven players during the game while the Catamounts had a roster of nine players. Each player on the Hawks had to put in an average of over 20 minutes of gameplay. With a small team, every member of the team was equally important to perform from start to finish.

Jonae Holman and Sadavia Felder scored 12 points each while Alexis Harris scored nine points and 10 rebounds during the game. Kate Cochran scored seven points and six rebounds

The Hawks will play away against Harford Community College on Feb. 8.
