Beaver and Talbert Continue Their Athletic and Academic Careers at Four-Year Institutions

Emily Talbert and Cierra Beaver were standouts on the Williamsport Wildcats Softball team and decided to take their talents to HCC together.  Recently, the two have decided to continue their playing careers at the next level.  In the fall of 2019, Cierra will be attending Wilson College, and Division III college in Chambersburg PA, while Emily will be going to Frostburg State University, a Division II school in Frostburg, MD.

In their playing careers thus far, both have been main contributors for the Hawks in the last two winning seasons.

To date, Cierra has appeared in 74 games, where she carries an impressive .435 batting average.  In 237 at bats, she has scored 49 runs, 103 hits, 24 doubles, 2 homeruns, 68 RBIs, 20 walks, and has had 9 stolen bases.  Along with holding down third base for the Hawks, she has also made her presence known on the mound, carrying a 2.76 ERA in 2018, and a 2.41 ERA in 2019.  She has also recorded 16 wins and 7 losses during her career. Cierra also collected honorable mention honors in the MD JUCO Conference.

Emily has appeared in 71 games the last two seasons.  She has carried a .335 batting average, where she has had 215 at bats, 45 runs scored, 72 hits, 22 doubles, 4 homeruns, 41 RBIs, and 26 walks.  Aside from playing first base, she has earned a 3.72 ERA in 2018 and a 2.43 ERA in 2019. While also collecting an impressive 232 strike outs.  She has recorded 15 wins and 8 loses in career.  In the 2018 season Emily was named First team all-conference for the MD Juco, and second team All-Region XX.

Both have contributed tremendously to the growth and development of the HCC Softball team, and they will be greatly missed.  I am incredibly thankful that they trusted me to be their coach and bought into everything we decided to do as a team.
