HOBBS, N.M. — Hagerstown Community College sophomore Micaela Fleetwood scored a personal-record 4,098 points to finish seventh in the women's heptathlon on Friday, May 17th at the NJCAA Division I Track & Field Championships, earning All-American honors for the third time in her career.
Fleetwood, a North Hagerstown product, also placed seventh in the heptathlon last spring at nationals and then placed seventh in the pentathlon at indoor nationals in March.
The top eight finishers earned All-American honors.
After competing in the 100 hurdles (10th, 16.48), high jump (10th, 4-7), shot put (seventh, 30-5 1/4) and 200 (10th, 26.70) on Thursday, Fleetwood was in ninth place overall in the field of 14 national qualifiers, with three events left.
In her first event Friday, she was ninth in the long jump (15-9 1/2), moving up to eighth place overall. She then placed fourth in the javelin (111-6) to move into seventh and held that position with a fourth-place effort in the 800 (2:33.43).
