HCC's Warnick wins heptathlon

WESTMINSTER, Md. — Hagerstown Community College sophomore Tiffany Warnick won the women's heptathlon at the McDaniel College Twilight Meet on Monday night.

She scored 3,672 points, ranking ninth in the NJCAA this season.

Warnick's performance included 17.33 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, 4 feet, 11 1/2 inches in the high jump, 30-7 3/4 in the shot put, 28.01 in the 200, 16-6 1/2 in the long jump, 84-0 in the javelin and 2:56.34 in the 800.

The top 16 NJCAA Division I performers will qualify for the NJCAA championships May 17-19 in Eldorado, Kansas.

HCC freshman Micaela Fleetwood, who finished second to Warnick on Monday with 3,431 points, currently ranks 11th with 3,502 from her performance at the Mount Multis at Mount St. Mary's earlier this month.
