Hagerstown Community College would like to congratulate freshmen Ahmed Abadir and Travis Bamfo for achieving awards for the 2019-2020 Men's Soccer All Region XX Team.

Abadir achieved a First Team honor after starting in 16 of his 17 matches competed in while recording nine goals and six assists. Abadir was known for his attack on goal and his fearlessness to finish on goal chances.

"Ahmed is a great kid that just wants be successful in anything he does," Head Coach CJ Trammell said. "He is super passionate about the game and has a great combination of speed and technical ability."

Abadir is currently studying Electrical Engineering Technology at Hagerstown CC but has a long-term goal of becoming a pro soccer player. He is from Lewiston, Maine where he achieved a Second Team honor his senior season while also winning a state championship with Lewiston High School. He is set to return for his sophomore season and Coach Trammell is excited to have him back.

"He is so deserving of this recognition as many teams realized we called on him in big moments and he would typically deliver," Trammell said. "He was our most dangerous attacking player this year and I can't wait to see him grow."

In addition to Abadir's Region XX honors, he was also named First Team All MDJUCO for 2019, along with freshman defenseman, Cody Taylor, named Honorable Mention.
