Men's Soccer Draw Even With Anne Arundel

Story by Phil Marshall

Hagerstown and Anne Arundel ended in a 1-1 draw Tuesday evening.

The Hawks took an early lead in the 5th minute as James Searcy played Travis Bamfo behind the Anne Arundel back line.

Bamfo struck the ball past the goalkeeper giving Hagerstown the early 1-0 lead.

The Hawks continued to play well early on in the 2nd half with big saves by goalkeeper Dido Lumu.

Midway through the 2nd half, Dalton Myers rocketed a volley that was stopped by the keeper that would have given the Hawks a 2-0 advantage.

Anne Arundel found an equalizer after picking off an errant pass in the 82nd minute.

Both teams continued to create chances throughout the remainder of the match but neither could find a breakthrough.

"The team played pretty well today," Head Coach CJ Trammell said. "We worked on work ethic and being confident in one another after recent matches."

After two overtimes, the sides finished the match in a 1-1 tie.

The Hawks next match-up will be at CCBC-Essex on Saturday September 21st at 2:00PM
