The Hawks are excited to announce Tyson Bellistri as the latest recruit to join the program. Tyson joins the men's soccer program from Boonsboro High School where he was a 4-year starter for the Warriors. Bellistri spent time at holding midfielder, center back, and outside back in high school. As a senior, Tyson added two assists on the offensive side, while also leading the defense to four shoutouts on the year. He was selected to the 2018 All Central Maryland Conference Gambrill Division First Team. He was also a Washington County coaches first team selection, and a 2018 Herald-Mail All-Washington County First Team selection. In 2017, Tyson was an honorable mention All Central Maryland Conference Gambrills Division selection, and a First Team Washington County selection.
At the club level, Tyson played for Liverpool FC International Academy of Western Maryland. He was a part of the team that appeared in the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship in 2018. The defender also participated in indoor and outdoor track winning first place in the 4x800, and third place in the 4x400 at the state level. Tyson was selected to the Herald-Mail All-Washington County Boys Indoor Track & Field team.
Tyson joins a recruiting class that includes fellow Boonsboro Warrior Matt Medina, Washington County recruit Cody Taylor, Frederick County recruits, Anthony Valladarez, and Habraam Gonzalez Escalera.
"Tyson is a player we are very excited about.Our focus was to improve our back line, and we think Tyson will play a role in that project for us," said Coach CJ Trammell. "His speed and stamina will be a huge asset to this team, not to mention his experience in multiple positions."
