Hagerstown, Md. - Thomas Johnson high school senior, Ab Zelaya, has recently announced his commitment to the Hagerstown Community College men's soccer team.

Zelaya plays club for Alliance Galaxy. Last season his team was ranked #6 in Maryland. His teams have won the President's Cup States twice, Regionals twice, and attended Nationals, earning second and fourth place. He earned a #18 ranking as a player at the National President's Cup. "I chose HCC because it is very welcoming" stated Zelaya. "I know this is the best place where I can improve as a player and a student and most importantly, a person."

At HCC, Zelaya will team up with fellow Frederick County player, Andres Florez-Rico. Montgomery County players, Santiago Alzate, DJ Mamo and Jeison Caballero join Alexis Torres from Delaware, Tico Witter and Nick Shirey from Maryland.

"Ab has tremendous hustle and heart" stated head coach Brandon Rethemeyer. "I can see him thriving in our environment because he has an excellent attitude to go along with his technical abilities. Being able to train day in and out in a professional setting will truly help him reach his goals."
