Story by Wornden Ly

Hagerstown-Md.—The Hawks men's basketball team won 79-64 at home on Feb. 12th, against Northern Virginia Community College, continuing a four-game winning streak.  Tyrin Hollis led the offense, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds. Rodney Black scored 18 points and eight rebounds and Raphael Castillo scored nine points and three rebounds.

In the first half, the Hawks, unable to score and struggling with the passing game, were down 39-24, and the Nighthawks were strong offensively.  In the second half, the Hawks regrouped for a comeback, and Castillo led the charge to tie the game at 45-45. The Hawks' stepped up their defense, slowing down the Nighthawks, forcing errors and running down the shot clock.  Charged with technical fouls, the Hawks allowed the Nighthawks to slowly get back into the game, however, in the end, they were able to overcome these hiccups, winning the game with Hollis scoring at the buzzer.

The men's basketball team will play again at home Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3:30 p.m. against Cecil College.
