Hawks go 2-0 in Kenny Wade Tip-Off Classic

Hagerstown CC went on the road to Martinsville, VA to play in the Kenny Wade Tip-Off Classic Saturday and Sunday and left with two victories. 

The Hawks beat host Patrick Henry Community College 80-75. 

Tyrin Hollis led the Hawks with 25 points and six steals. 

Kyshon Tate had 10 points and three rebounds. 

Rodney Black had eight points and eight rebounds. 

"Tyrin took over the game in the last 10 minutes," Head Coach Bernard Hopkins said. "He made some big time plays and overall it was a great team win where every contributed."

The Hawks took on Cape Fear CC on Sunday and completed the trip sweep with a 68-55 victory. .

Tyrin Hollis scored 15 points and five steals and three rebounds.

Jalen Freeman had 12 points, five steals, and three rebounds. 

Rodney Black recorded nine points and 10 rebounds. 

"The game started out very tough for us," Hopkins said. "We were down seven points at the half but this team fought to bring us back and our defense was huge in the second half."

A successful road trip for the Hawks as they are set to come home for their next match-up against Richard Bland College on Saturday November 16th at 3:30PM.
