The Jim Brown Classic basketball invitational, traditionally held each year during the weekend following Thanksgiving, is an event, hosted by Hagerstown Community College, providing out-of-conference game opportunities early in the basketball season. This invitational classic has been structured in different ways in past years, based upon the number of men's and women's teams participating.
Following his retirement in 2002, the traditional Thanksgiving tournament was named after Coach Jim Brown, HCC Athletic Director, Head ARCC Administrator, and Hawks Head Men's Basketball Coach, winning 517 games from 1979-2002.
