VERO BEACH, Fla. — Hagerstown Community College used strong pitching and two big-inning rallies to earn a sweep on Monday, the Hawks' second day of five consecutive doubleheaders.

Ryan Clark and Seth Hartman, both North Hagerstown graduates, pitched complete games with the help of big sixth innings in both.

Against Nyack College, a four-year, Division II school, Clark allowed two earned runs, while striking out seven, to collect his first college victory.

HCC (7-1) broke open a 3-2 game with seven runs on seven hits in the sixth inning.

Raffy Baumgardner led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs, while TJ Kalagher (Boonsboro) added two hits and two RBIs and Brayden Quirple (Grace) had two hits and an RBI.

In the second game, Hartman (1-0) went the distance to defeat Bay College, allowing five earned runs while striking out 10.

The Hawks collected 20 hits and used an eight-run sixth to break open an 8-5 game.

Rhoan Bromfield (South Hagerstown) had three hits, including a triple and a home run, and three RBIs, while Josh Menders added three hits, including two doubles, and an RBI to lead HCC. Corey Walters (Williamsport) had three hits and three RBIs, while Chris Jennings (Smithsburg) and Baumgardner also had three hits and two RBIs each.

Quirple added two hits and an RBI in the game.
