HCC sweeps baseball, softball doubleheaders

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Hagerstown Community College erupted for 18 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Messiah College of Wednesday.

In the opener, Brandon Toloso had two hits and an RBI and Matt Kline and Hunter Martin each had two hits for the Hawks (23-7).

Kenny Daniels (3-1) picked up the win, while Patrick O'Connor pitched two scoreless innings in relief to get his second save on the season.

In the second game, Victor Norris had two hits and three RBIs and Justin Smith hit a two-run homer to lead HCC.

Colby Byers, Reid Wallech and Jared Durning combined for a three-hitter and seven strikeouts. Byers (4-2) pitched five innings for the win.
