Hawks Sweep Shenandoah

Hagerstown Community College posted a sweep of Shenandoah University, 4-2 and 2-1, in a pair of closely played contests in which the Hawks managed just three hits in each game.

HCC (21-10) jumped to a 2-0 lead in the third inning of the opener and held on behind the pitching of starter Nick Stegman (3-1), who went six innings before Justin Smith entered for his fourth save.

Smith, Sinjin Shoop, Dylan Stouffer and Nick Goode each drove in runs for the Hawks.

In the nightcap, Smith delivered a one-out sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the seventh for the winning run. Ken Daniels started and went six innings, striking out six. Colin Osborne (4-2) pitched the seventh and got the win. Creighton Farrell had two hits and an RBI.
